No matter where you are on your fertility journey, Amrit will support and calm you, using well researched treatment protocols which draw on Chinese medicine’s rich history of supporting healthy conception.
How often should I have treatments?
It’s ideal to have a minimum of three to four months of treatment. This is because it takes at least this long for the follicles in your ovaries to develop an egg ready for ovulation.
During this time, weekly treatments are ideal, but it’s possible to space them out. Two treatments per cycle are the minimum, generally one for the follicular phase and one for the luteal phase. Consult with Amrit about tailoring this to your cycle.
Treatment for each menstrual cycle has an accumulative effect, increasing qi and blood flow to your reproductive organs, building a healthy uterus lining, enhancing ovary function, balancing hormone levels, calming your heart and mind, and bringing your body into a receptive state to hold and maintain implantation and pregnancy.
Treating male fertility
Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help with libido and sperm quailty. For men, a concentrated block of 5-10 weekly treatments is most beneficial to enhance sperm count, morphology and motility, to aid in achieving conception.
Chinese herbal medicine
Herbal medicine has been scientifically proven to assist with ovary and sperm function. Amrit will use Chinese medicine diagnosis, including observing tongue and pulse, to craft a specific prescription tailored for your diagnostic pattern and constitution. This is recommended for each week of your cycle to build the lining of your uterus and support implantation of the egg. You may also notice improvements to your sleep, digestion, heat sensations or sweat, stress levels, mood, amount of menstrual blood, smoothness of flow, and even lubrication and libido.
Diet
Eating well supports an optimal ovarian environment for the eggs during the critical maturation process. Within the Chinese medicine framework, there may be particular foods that you should avoid or increase according to your constitution type.
Lifestyle advice
Amrit can recommend breathing exercises, qi gong practices, self moxibustion, or acupressure as part of your treatment plan.
Acupuncture for IVF support
Research indicates that acupuncture can double the success rate of implantation when applied in certain circumstances. It is beneficial to have treatment to prepare for the transfer and to hold implantation in the 2 week wait time. It can be helpful to have your Acupuncturist as a neutral support person during this process and your treatment sessions will provide a time for deep relaxation.
Treatment for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Clinical trials using electro-acupuncture have shown an improvement in ovary function and frequency. Regular acupuncture also decreases acne outbreaks, and improves digestion and regulates metabolism to support weight loss. Herbal medicine is also beneficial and can be tailored specific to your constitution and Chinese medicine diagnostic pattern.
