Covid-Safe Policy
AHPRA registered allied health practitioners are classed as essential services and can continue to practice during lockdown to support patients physical and mental health, screening applies.
A few points to reassure you:
Thorough cleaning of all surfaces and points of contact is practiced before and after each session with >70% alcohol hospital grade disinfectant spray(Dettol or Pineoclean). Treatment tables are wiped down and fresh face cradles are used with a rotational system. As per usual every sheet and piece of cloth used in the treatment is washed at 90 degrees and used completely fresh for each patient. Appointments have increased space between them for hygiene practices and social distancing. The centre at Freshwater is large enough for social distancing. We treating with Personal Protective Equipment during peak outbreak periods (masks and soft gloves in some cases). All patients must hand sanitise on entering. During peak outbreak periods we recommend taking a shower and wearing fresh clothing to your session. Practitioners have completed the Department of Health COVID-19 Infection Control Training, strictly follow hygiene protocols and safety measures, and keep updated on new information releases. |
What are the screening criteria?
You must reschedule if you have any symptoms of cold or flu (cough, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, fever, sneezing isn not a symptom)
During peak periods you are advised to reschedule if you are in the more susceptible group:
* People who are aged 70 yrs or over
* People who are indigenous and aged over 50 yrs old
* Women who are pregnant (exception made for Pre-birth and Induction Acupuncture)
* Parents with babies under 12mths old
* People who are immuno-comprised
* People who have a chronic health condition (eg diabetes, heart disease or lung disease)
* People who are required to isolate for 14 days due to known contact with a person who has COVID-19.
* People who are required to isolate for 14days after returning from travel.
* People who are required to isolate awaiting COVID-19 test results.
* People who are required to isolate due to diagnosis of COVID-19.
